While your comment is funny - if not very fair - you do raise and interesting point.
I’m sure Perry is a fine man. He’s certainly not done a bad job as Texas governor.
But what is it about my adopted home state that causes such horrifically inarticulate people to ascend to governor. Bush wasn’t this bad, admitttedly, but still.
I promise you we have well-spoken, intelligent conservatives here in abundance. My own congresscritter, Louis Goehmert, for example, is wonderful. For some reason, though, we’ve had 20 years worth of governors who are, shall we say, severely oratorically challenged.

Did you here Rush couple of weeks ago talking about the well known Eastern elite reporter who was invited to Dallas recently for a Bush Library occasion and came back talking about how nice and likable GWB is. This guy had covered Bush for 8 years and suddenly discovered that Bush is nice and "likable."...and can talk.
