Jerry Kilgore, former state attorney general and chairman of Perrys campaign in Virginia, said Friday night that he was disappointed that the candidate didnt reach the required number of signatures. But, he said, qualifying for the Virginia ballot is a daunting task.
Hopefully he will do better in other states, he said. He can focus on other states.
So was Kilgore bought by Romney? What on earth is the chairman of the Perry campaign being so cavalier about, he’s a failure as a state chairman
Looks like all of the papers are confirming Perry not getting on the ballot now.
The stories as to why are all over the map.
Still no confirmation of Newt getting on the Ballot from the major papers, or from any papers for that matter.
I read that unless someone receives 51% of the vote, the delegates are divided proportionately. Wouldn’t this mean that if 3 are on the ballot, it may be worth Perry’s time to run a write in? He’d at least come out of it with something.
Jerry Kilgore is a big name in Virginia politics, and a good man.
I am shocked that he was not able to get these signature collected, and frankly I think he needed to get the local bloggers and committees more involved.
Of course, I haven’t been in a committee since 2008, but I still get invited, and I am on the RPV mailing list and on the Perry campaign list. I am surprised because nobody from the campaign ever asked me for help even though I told them I could do signatures. Neither did anybody from the Bachmann or Santorum campaign.
I will wait for official word before I speculate what happened, because i don’t see how you can think you have 11,000 signatures and only have 4000.
On the other hand, I’d rather see them miss by thousands than by dozens. I could have done something about dozens. I could do anything about thousands.
