COMMENTARY | Sarah Palin is hinting at the possibility of still tossing her hat into the ring for the 2012 election, according to a report by Fox News. As a political consultant, I believe she could bring something needed to the Republican field right now. She could reinvigorate the field with her natural charm and spunk.
Don't get me wrong, this article is in no way supporting Palin as a candidate directly or any of her political stances. She is, though, someone who has a ton of personality. The Republican field is very dry right now without much personality or charisma. As we all know, someone a person in the room with extra energy can bring everyone up and could take the field to the next level.

It takes a Sarah to raze a village?
Not going to happen and she’s smart enough to realize she couldn’t win.
She’s a great lady that has an amazing ability to energize the base. That said, most of the country doesn’t like her, the media would destroy her and Obama would win again easily.
Just reality.
Agreed. The media and the Lefties would beat the pulp out of her as they did while she was governor. A continual barrage of harrassing lawsuits, topped by brainless comedy routines, attacks on her family, lies about her family, etc., etc., etc. and Palin would be a whipping post. Too bad but the David Axelrods of the world are brutal.
Palin is the only one who will attack Hussein Obama directly.
For me, she is by far the easiest one to defend. At the same time, by defending her record, it points out how horribly the press has treated her, taking them down a notch or two as well.
I know that any other candidate would be better than Obama, but for me that is not good enough anymore. Not after what I witnessed during the last election and the way she was treated by the GOP.
If the Whigs are too far gone, by letting ORomney or Ron "Manning is a Hero" Paul score big or spoil our win against Ubama, than she knows we should let the GOP die and very painful death, and WE can make our own Second Party (just like we did in 1856 and 1860)
“...the media would destroy her and Obama would win again easily.”
I heard that about every candidate we’ve had so far. We’re kicking our own @sses.
And if the going gets tough will she quit again?
I think the only way to defeat Obama AND the MSM (we have to defeat both to win) for Palin is to have an agreement with a VP candidate IN THE PRIMARY...yep, that’s right, in the primary...that way they can tag team the entire time.
I’d say Rubio and she tag team. That would deliver a swing state Florida and shore up Hispanics to counter Obama.
I can set her up with some first class bodyguards at below market rates, if she decides to run. Barry is NOT going to give her Secret Service protection, even though Dubya was gracious enough to give him protection WAY before he was the Dem nominee.
Well. When everyone decides what’s best for all of us, I’ll still know that the best for all of us would have been a Perry/Palin ticket. Now people are talking about a Jeb Bush/Palin ticket? Currently Conservatives are supporting Gingrich? Those people supported an untested Cain? I think we’re screwed. Let me know when you’ve decided.
Yeah right......
Let's see, she's asked to come down and help McCain win the Presidency. She left Alaska to campaign with an 88% approval rating. She drew more crowds than the top of the ticket. The brainiacs in the GOP, thought it was a good idea during the campaign to buy 150k worth of clothes.
They kept her under wraps for 2 weeks, then set her up with unfriendly interviews. She energized the base like I have not seen in years. After her help, she goes back to Alaska and is hit with silly lawsuit after silly lawsuit. Making probably less than 150k a year, she had bills totally 500k.
Where was McCain after he handed Obama the election? He was on Leno mocking Sarah Palin!
I've had my fill of the elite in the GOP. If you like them, good luck getting them into office. They won't be getting my support again.
ya didn’t get the memo did ya?
going just as planned...
Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media vet the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.
This election will be a non-election...featuring the state approved candidates-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.
Cain got Secret Service protection and he hadn’t even made it to a primary let alone became a nominee. To say that Obama wouldn’t give it to Palin if she was in danger like Cain felt he was, is supposition and foolish. Obama would be magnanimous and give it to her freely. Like Bush gave it to him.
Because politically, it wouldn’t cost Obama anything to give it to her, and it wouldn’t gain him anything to withhold it from her.
You really don’t understand the man that well. He is a narcissist. He is coming from a position of power as president. Granting secret service protection is one of the perks.
Heck. He even had tax payers pay for those cool buses. If she becomes the nominee he would let her use one of those buses if she’d like. He said that one was for him and the other would be for the Republican nominee. As president, he can do things like that.
Wasn’t she shopping a reality show about a week ago?
Her entire family would have to be covered.
Amen...she can wait four or eight years until that youngest girl is older.
I beg to disagree with you. Did Stalin give the White Russians protection? Did Hitler guard the Reds? Would Bill Ayers help the ROTC? Is Jeremiah Wright a big USMCR Toys for Tots proponent? You’re basing your supposition on what a normal, mainstream American politician would do. Mr. Obama is anything but. Just look at Fast & Furious or the Black Panther case to see what I mean.
I’ll GLADLY go back to my first choice on my tagline.
