then there is the matter of “LV”, “RV”, and “A”.....

Likely Voters
Registered Voters
Adults

The latter is the least useful, which is why CNN relies on it to misrepresent Newt’s standing in the polls.

Try some orignial thought and consider CNN’s results from questioning 467 “Adults”, rather than “Likely Voters”.
That’s how they pretend Newt and Mitt are tied.....

The GOP field is weak. Paul is definitely too extreme. Romney is even worse then McCain. Huntsman was never serious. Bachmann and Santorum have good conservative credentials, just never made a lasting impact. Perry was practically handed the nomination on a silver platter but couldn't handle being the front runner.

While he was likable early on, Cain quickly showed us all what a one dimensional candidate he really was. A real empty suit.

That gets us to Newt. Not the best choice for conservatives and not a winning choice for the GOP either.

CNN working to nominate Romney I can understand. But why would FNC with its “RV” do the same?

Huntsman has some business experience with Huntsman Corp between 1993 and 2001.

Perry has some business experience with his family’s cotton farm between 1977 to 1984. Perry also has military experience.

Paul has experience as a physician in private practice. I would call that small business experience—on par with, and similar to Bachmann’s business experience. Paul also has military experience, however it was as a flight surgeon rather than a line officer.

“Bye bye Newt.”

It seems a bit early for you to be celebrating a Romney win.

But hey, you keep your fingers crossed and you still might get your imaginary president, Obama, for another 4 years.

GO NEWT GO.....

As long as people keep paying attention to them, the polls will keep lying and manipulating. Ignore polls, all of them.

I definitely think Mitt is a better choice than Newt.

That's the first "Mitt is a better choice than (anybody besides Satan)" statement I've seen in a long time here.

Based on WHAT!?

My own assessment of a variety of factors. Temperament, tendencies, electability.

They are both old-guard Republicans who people feel good about because they have been around for a long time. They are also two candidates who will lose to a younger dynamic candidate like Obama. And they will lose because they offer nothing new and exciting, but instead have become entrenched in the machinations of Washington.

Newt ran the House of representatives you idiot.

Which is a lot more than can be said of that idiot Boehner. Boehner seems to have a mindset of somebody whose party is in the majority.

That gets us to Newt. Not the best choice for conservatives and not a winning choice for the GOP either.

Anybody but Romney can win against Obama. Well maybe not Paul, but most of us will support anybody who isn't Romney, and Obama has done enough to hurt himself. The economy is still bad, the extremists in his own party are turning against him.

"Romney has zero chance of winning the GOP nomination"

and

"I do not believe there is any way possible that Romney wins the GOP nomination"

At this point, Romney is ~most~ likely to win the nomination. He has the establishment GOP in his pocket, big time, because he has the most money and he leads in most polling, albeit by small margins.

Some other candidate will have to upset that status by a firm margin, else I fear Romney will indeed snag the nomination.

But, the voting populace, including those on this website, are all over the map, running from one candidate to another, and throwing rocks at every other candidate in the process. Not very wise, and most likely will lead to a win by Obama next year.... that is, unless self-proclaimed 'conservatives' can find their conservative thinking-caps.

Newt’s issue is money. If he comes into big money to fight back with...and soon....then he’s in the race til the end.

A super-pac committed 20 million to Newt last week.
