These are probably retired government workers or retired tenured professors or other privileged employees of academia.
They most likely have had no real world experience or a job where they actually had to do something. There world view is influenced by a hostility to religion especially Christianity and an antagonism toward hard working, patriotic Americans.
The four things that stood out for me in the letter were: 1. arrogance of the writer, 2. the irrational anger and hatred towards Ronald Reagan, 3. the total ignorance about economics and 4. the hatred of religion and people of faith.
The government elite have an attitude very similar to the writer. They have never done any real work in their lives yet are contemptuous towards those who do the difficult work that keeps the country going. They think they are better than anyone who is not among their group and continually disparage those who produce the products and services that they use and protect them from violence.
Our country would be better off without them.
I am reminded of descriptions of similar parties thrown by Dr. Goebbels and assorted Nazis friends at Xmas times. He especially hated the Catholic Church into which he was baptized. He was dead long before he died.
Yeah! No bigotry there! ( The only liberal mortal sin.) /s
The irony is that this author, ( a bigot of Mt. Rushmore proportions) likely considers himself as being, oh so, tolerant and thinks Christians are the closed minded Neanderthals. Maybe he fell down the rabbit hole and everything up is now down.
