Newt is stepping in dangerous waters. Yeah it's all great and good as long as you agree with the person in charge.
Something tells me the Found Fathers, as Newt likes to quote, would be completely against this.
You need to read. Only the Congress can impeach a judge.
Actually as Newt points out, the Founding Fathers are the ones who established the Constitution (Methods and Procedures for governance). If you listen to the entire interview, he lays it out as the importance of the 3 branches to police each others actions and decisions.
His largest point being that for the last 60 years, the Judicial branch has been running roughshod over the will of the people with lawyering and elitism.
Article I, Section 8Looks to me like they would very much agree with what Newt is saying . . . as they included it in the Constitution.
The Congress shall have the Power . . .
To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court . . ."
And why they wrote:
"Article III, Section 1.
The judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behaviour, and shall, at stated times, receive for their services, a compensation, which shall not be diminished during their continuance in office.
