Republican Presidential candidate Texas Governor Rick Perry makes a campaign stop at the La Chiesa Italian Restaurant in Spencer, Iowa, which is located in northeast part of the state in Clay County. The Governor criticized Newt Gingrich & Ron Paul for their support of congressional earmarks and said hed consider Herman Cain as Defense Secretary in his cabinet if elected president. He has all the characteristics of the type of person I would bring forward, Perry told patrons at the restaurant.
And just when people were starting to take you seriously again...
Very polite answer. Well done.
Everybody but Perry knows it’s over...
Wow...
We have a Leftist Commie Pinko for a Sec of Def now. Cain would be a vast improvement.
Rick, Rick, Rick.....you coulda been a contenda.
Nothing against Cain or Perry, but no thanks.
Herman Cain as Defense Secretary
And this from a man that has military in his history? I don’t see Herb as the SOD but he sure could bring change and efficiency to some other department I’d think.
Really Rick?
How would a restaurant guy be remotely qualified?
Disappointing.
Sorry he has already accepted Newts VP spot
Are you saying no to both? You use to support Cain, I thought.
Also, Newt says he would consider Mitt for VP.
Good comeback. Sec. of Defense?????? oh my.
I agree. Nothing more than a polite answer. Doesn’t sound like it’s as much about Cain specifically as the traits he embodies. He has all the characteristics of the type of person I would bring forward,.
Just a diplomatic response.
There’s much more to Cain than restaurants.
Computer knowledge, for instance, in an age where cyberwar is on the upswing.
No Romney. I sincerely doubt Newt would go for Romney anyway.
I’m sure Newt has considered it. “Has” as in considered for an instant and rejected for eternity.
Pandering always makes me want to toss my cookies.
Sure he’s consider him. But then I expect he’s say: ‘NEXT’.
Bye Bye, Rick. That did it.
I suspect that there’s more to this story than what was reported. Was this a response to a question from someone in the crowd who who asked Perry if he would consider Cain for Sec. of Defense ?
