It's good news for Newt that the down-ticket candidates support him. However, I worry that a Newt nomination will “energize” the Democrats (and some moderates and independents) just as a Pelosi nomination by the Democrats would energize us. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any good alternatives among the current crop of candidates.
I’m coming around to the idea that if Newt can win us over, he can win swing voters over, too.
I know. Just like our attacks on our Islamic terrorist enemy energized them and their attacks on us would have actually intensified (had they not been dead).
