If you don't, get a Glock in 45ACP.
I'm with you - now.
I never was much of a Glock fan until a laid-off stressed-out co-worker offered me his Glock Model 30, a Kydex holster with both a two-gang and single magazine holder, 5 magazines and 90 rounds of .45 ACP for $350 cash.
I took him up on it, got used to it, and it has since become my go-to handgun.
I did have El Paso Saddlery build me a leather holster that works both strong-side and cross-draw and a similar magazine holder setup in leather.
I am a happy camper. Little-bitty short barrel, but surprisingly accurate, fits my hand, goes off every time I ask it to and easy to field-strip and clean.
I always hated that no external safety thing, but I adapted easily. Already had a Dillon press and dies to reload the .45 ACP, but I was continually annoyed that the spent casings from my 1911 squirted everywhere and I never could find them. I got to where I would shoot standing in the middle of a 30'square tarp and still never found more than 2/3 of them. The Glock piles them up for you in the same spot.
