The last half hour was much more substantive than I expected.

Here are my rankings of how I feel the candidates did tonight:

Michele Bachmann - I believe Michele handily won tonight's debate and is our best choice to run against Obama. She has never deviated from Tea Party values and fully understands and will defend our Constitution.

Newt Gingrich - Newt also performed very well tonight despite being under near-constant attack. I do not think Newt is our best choice for nominee as I believe he is too tied into the Beltway, but I will vote for him if he is nominated.

Rick Perry - Not a big fan of Rick Perry before tonight but he impressed me tonight. Very good job tonight but might be too little too late. Will vote for him if nominated.

Rick Santorum - Very sharp performance tonight. I'd happily vote for him if he is the nominee and he is my first choice for VP.

Jon Huntsman - Not a fan of Huntsman at all but he also turned in a pretty decent performance.

Mitt Romney - Basically played it safe and treaded water most of the night. Sorry Mitt but we need a nominee who will go on the offensive. I think Mitt was seriously damaged at the end when challenged on all his flip-flops concerning gay marriage, abortion and gun control.

Ron Paul. Hopefully he is on his way to the "nervous hospital" where they will put him under observation for the next 90 days. The man is absolutely nuts.
