Not really ~ he's simply a lot like Henry Cabot Lodge. As we recall from our ancient history it was the Nixon/Lodge ticket that LOST against the Kennedy/Johnson ticket.

There we had two of these guys on the ticket, and possibly JFK was the most Conservative one in the crowd. He wanted to cut income taxes!

That election in 1960 is one that I remember quite well. Out of 60 million votes Kennedy won by 100,000. The election was stolen in West Virginia and Chicago. We are not going to get Ron Paul or anyone like him, unfortuneately. And Newt is an intellectual who can win. And he is a convert to catholicism. That’s enough for me.
