a successful, principled conservative leader.

Successful at what? She and McCain lost and then she quit. Her principles amounted to stringing her supporters along and pointedly refusing to let them know her intentions while she rang the register with books and TV shows. I don't begrudge her the path she took, or the money, but it's pretty clear she had no desire or stomach to engage. Sarah Palin's job is selling Sarah Palin. That's it.

Damn you’re cynical!

I pray that you’re wrong.

I totally disagree, PP. She could have made much more money as a Presidential candidate, whether she was successful or not. This path led to the bottom falling out for her. It was a family decision, and I’m still very upset with it, frankly. Bob

It is obvious that Palin enjoys the campaign part of running for office. She likes the cheering crowds and adoration it gets her.

What is also obvious is that she doesn’t really like being confined by the constrictions and boredom of holding a public office. She actually said this as far back as the Alaska reality show. She made an ad for the show declaring how she would rather do this than sit in a stuffy old office all day. This is freakin’ fun.

She probably decided quite a while ago to not really run, but enjoy the fun as though she might run. It was a total ego driven farce.

The way she ended the charade was pretty nasty to her die hard fans. Taking money for the PAC and the movie was not a nice thing to do.
