I have a little different take on your question, I think.

For the most part, the choice seems to be framed as to support or not support Gingrich.

As you pointed out, unless one considers voting for Romney (and, believe me, a lot of people out there are going to be giving Romney a second look over the next weeks and months), there is no choice but Gingrich.

But supporting him as the nominee doesn’t, in my view, mean giving him a pass. He’s got a lot of bullcrap to answer for and I say make him answer for it. Take him to task here, even in our little corner of the world. It’s not chopped liver.

Put it out there that we’re not ignoring his problems, rather we’re well aware of them, they concern us, and don’t take the fact that we’re going to hire you in spite of them as carte blanche to continue these stunts in the future.

IOW, at some point, all we can do as a movement is try to preserve our political and moral authority to hold this man that, in some ways, we have no choice but to support, accountable in a fierce way.

Because he’s a loose cannon.

Some may so “oh, so just tear down our own.” Bull. Talking about what’s gone wrong and WHAT WE EXPECT/DEMAND in the future doesn’t tear Gingrich down. It will make him stronger, actually. And it won’t hurt him a bit in the general election — that’s already it’s own ballgame.

Agreed.

My question is pretty straight forward. If we have a better choice I want to hear about it. Who?
