Does arming a liberal create a libertarian?

I just hope that their over-sized sense of self-entitlement doesn't affect the way they use their new weapons.

Given the mindset of liberals, I doubt that suddenly owning a gun will cause them to adhere strictly to Agenda 21 and off themselves.

I’m not concerned. The liberals I’ve known are anti gun because they are truly scared of guns.

"Does arming a liberal create a libertarian?"
No...... a small L libertarian is a strict constitutionalist.... something a conservative is not.. and something a nut job like ron paul is not.... small L libertarians are more constitutionally focused than ANY conservative.... that is why conservatives attack them relentlessly...conservatives and liberals want to control you with laws... the only difference is which side of the spectrum these laws come from..

Does arming a liberal create a libertarian?

It does do some interesting things. I used to live in a very liberal city and I've taught dozens of people to shoot, many of them liberals, some gay, some women, all those groups the article alluded to. I think it's a little of each of these things: (1) an individual who has become determined to conquer his or her fear by arming himself or herself has already taken a step away from dependency, especially with respect to the state in the form of the police, and (2) an individual who discovers that he or she really is capable of that sort of self-expression is less susceptible to the sort of political suggestion that would force him or her back into dependency. Works both ways.

In short, it doesn't necessarily create libertarians or conservatives, but it does create independents, the real kind, not the kind that check the independent box and vote Democrat anyway. If it ever does come to foxholes and barricades, I think a lot of us may be surprised at who ends up next to us.

Most Libertarians I know don't want the government to 'redistribute' anything to them, they just want to be left alone. The only sense of entitlement I have seen is that they are entitled to do what they want so long as it doesn't interfere with others' rights to do pretty much the same. That isn't so much self entitlement as a raw concept of Liberty.

The OWS crowd aren't Libertarians, just useful idiots, communists, other paid agitators, miscellaneous drifters/grifters, and some union folks.
