BTW, last year I moved to another state. I was required to present a certified birth certificate. About 20 minutes on the telephone, a letter, and a check for $20, and less than 2 weeks later, I had TWO copies of a certified birth certificate.
Maybe people who aren't capable of getting a certified birth certificate have no business voting.

I just did the same here in California. Sent in the form with a check for $17 to the county registrar’s office and less than two weeks got a copy of my son’s birth certificate.
I find this really curious.
How did the person you spoke to on the phone verify you were really the person the BC refers to? What would stop me from requesting a BC for someone other than myself?
