I read something that said Gingrich's election would hurt the Tea Party.
Real Clear Politics has Romney at 36 and Newt at 24.3.
You FReepers from New Hampshire: What can we do to help?
ping
Because he is talking conservative and he "ain't" backing down.
Pretty impressive!
I wonder what the media is going to try and spring on him to shut him down?
Prepare for the flood of “I'll never vote for Newt” folks, from folks who never vote anyway.
The conservatives who don't like Newt better coalesce behind one candidate soon or they are toast. It's too late to simply be against someone. It's time to pick a horse and ride. I'm curious to see how Newt holds up when the media really kicks in and goes after him.
This race is getting more and more interesting! I had no idea that we in the tea party were supporting Gingrich, but he IS a heck of a lot better than Myth....for what it’s worth.
Ha ! NBC News/Marist polls are the new Tea Party standard. Remember that. What I do not like about this is so many people who think they are smart are falling for it. This thing is a set up.
And before he is the nominee you expect the media to expose Newt as an addict of big government on par with any Democrat. i’m fairly certain that MSM will destroy him in the general election with the same things they are just reporting right now.
The one issue that unifies TEA participants are, of course taxes. These are Newt’s positions on that issue.

Liberals have been touting this stupid poll, because is seems to show that Obama leads either Gingrich or Romney in South Carolina.
That’s laughable in my mind.
A look inside the data tells you how they cook the data.
1)It’s a “Registered Voters” poll which tends to favor Democrats.
2) Democrats constitute 33% of those surveyed, versus 30% Republicans. I don’t know what the breakdown of registered voters in SC is, but I doubt that there are more Dems than Republicans. I doubt registered Democrats are even close to the number of registered Republicans
3)After screening for turnout expectations Democrats only account for 2% of Likely Voters versus Republicans who constitute 65% of Likely Voters
That’s a massive “enthusiasm gap” and renders the “Registered Voters” results worthless, IMHO.
If anything it points to Obama getting blown out of the water.
I just checked intrade. Newt really is gaining and mitt is falling. I don’t put much faith in these silly polls, but intrade is different. I trust intrade a little more than the others.
I’m not voting for newt in the primary. If I vote in the primary at all it will be for santorum...haven’t decided if I’m going to show up or not.
Tea Party Power my eye. Newts a Rino and NBC lies. Don’t believe it and not voting for him in the primary. I am Tea party and have not sold out my values to fake polls.
All I know is I'd crawl over broken glass to vote against Barack Obama, even if the Republican candidate's name is Spongebob.
I didn't get the candidate I wanted, but that happens to grownups a lot. I'll take what I can get and work with it.
Will this week finally be the one which sees the support floor for Mittens collapse? Could happen. Even RINO creeps must see after this debate that Mittens is completely unprepared to be president, and would be decimated by Obama as our nominee. When will they give it up?
Newt Gingrich and the "Invented" Palestinian PeopleDaniel Pipes, defender of Israel and an unsurpassed expert student and commentator on the Middle East regarding Newt Gingrich's recent dramatic clarification:
absolutely correct
In a stunningly simple confirmation of two (2) paragraphs, Daniel Pipes affirms Newt Gingrich's rejection of the imaginary people who did not exit until 1920.
I would consider myself tea party. Have spoken at some events in fact. And Newt was way down on my list a few months ago for all of the reasons we all know. But he has earned his way back in with a solid presentation of tea party principles and vision for America.
And he’s reminded me why he was the original tea party type guy - with the Contract with America in 1994. And make no mistake, that was his revolution. He led the friendly forces and he was the target of the enemy forces. None of that is even in dispute.
So yes, it makes perfect since to me that Newt is getting huge tea party support. And anyone being honest with themselves would have to admit that down deep, they know Newt is the man to debate Obama.
“Gingrich also enjoys huge leads among conservative and very conservative voters.”
Not because he is conservative nor because he has Tea Party principles. Only because he stands up to the press and he’s not Romney.
Ya hoo!!!!! Go Newt...Go!!!!
Jim, as you've no doubt seen by now, there is mixed reaction here on FR to your recent pro-Newt commentary.
I think this poll result indicates something I have felt for a long time: those who call themselves "conservative" in national polls are a few points closer to the middle of the road than are John and Jane Q. Freeper.
