I did. In fact, one's self is the only person any individual can speak for, including Perry.
However, most of what I have seen and heard in the last six months is the motivated flurry of Perry supporters doing all the explaining for Perry rather than Perry delivering his intended message the first time with clarity and confidence.
It would be simple for Governor Perry and would go a long way toward helping him win the nomination and the White House, if only Perry would consider enlisting the help of a public speaking coach.
Like it or not, we're in the age of mass communication. President Reagan set the standard for Conservative communicators.
It's not about any speech impediment, nor about accents nor even the pronunciation problems President Bush sometimes seemed to have.
Yet President Bush had so much confidence and ability to speak on his feet that his occasional missteps in speaking were always overshadowed by Bush's message delivered with confidence directly to each individual listener.
Perry certainly has the education, the intelligence and the resources and it is never too late.
Yet time is running out. It would be a shame if Governor Perry missed his chance to help all of our great Nation from the White House.
There you go, and there is still time.
