Newt WON! imagine the tremendous pressure he STOOD up to!!!

I am still not liking certain things about Newt, but that was one hell of a pressure cooker that Snuffleupagus and Sawyer tried to throw Newt into tonight with the fidelity question and inviting the other candidates to dogpile on him. It gives me more confidence in him, and I see where Jim Robinson and others are coming from when they say Newt has gone the distance since the Reagan years and can handle any of the pressure.

If Newt was going to crack under pressure it would have been tonight, and he threw it right back in the moderators faces and came out looking better. I can't see any of the other candidates standing up under that pressure - most of them have gotten rattled under far less pressure.

It's ironic since Ron Paul probably gave the best answer out of any of the candidates during that phase of the debate when he talked about the oath of office and turned the question away from the moderators inviting the candidates to dogpile on Gingrich.

I may not be as big of a fan of Newt as many others, but I have 100% confidence that he can handle anything the libs and Obama can throw at him.

This is going to put the libs/MSM in panic mode though, more so than when Cain was rising, because they were clearly looking to take Newt down with that question.

I am not a big Newt fan, but this question pi$$ed me off in the way it was asked. If you’re going to ask it, then Gingrich deserved to be asked it first. I was hoping one of the other candidates would have deferred commenting and telling the Sawyer/Snuffy that Newt deserved the opportunity to have first crack at it. It was a set up question from the start.

Just like the poverty question was a set up. At first glance, you think the media is giving that question to set up Romney bad (since he comes from a privileged background), but it was really to allow Romney or some other candidate to go after Newt’s earnings at Freddie.

In fact, the bulk of these questions were set up questions. Newt held his ground. If anything, Romney is in serious trouble. A performance like tonight is something that will cause the establishment heartache. They (Romney people) might actually start fleeing to Huntsman depending on how Monday’s Lincoln-Douglas goes.
