Gingrich on Obama’s healthcare law: ‘About 300 pages are pretty good’ [300 out of 2,409]

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) called for an immediate repeal of President Obama's healthcare law but would reinstate "a little over 10 percent" of it.

He made the remarks on Thursday in Iowa, when he introduced a new version of his "Contract with America."

Gingrich, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, listed "Repeal ObamaCare" as the first of his 10 part contract.

"The reason you have to repeal it is it's a 2,700-page document," Gingrich said. "You can't repeal part of it, because candidly you can't trust the staffs to tell you which part you ought to repeal."

But the former Speaker stressed that he had a "common-sense replacement" for the nation's healthcare system, and that some of that comes from the law he wants repealed.

"Now there are about 300 pages that are pretty good, a little over 10 percent, but they should be part of the replace document," Gingrich said.

.

It*s amazing politicians seem to be unable to comprehend that their prevous comments or quotes or actions are now eternally stored on the internet, on digital radio and tv archives, etc.

They just dump out a contradictory position or solution and expect the public/voter to accept it

Then:

Deny Deny Delay Delay

“perverted into British style government driven bureaucracy”

Anybody on Capitol Hill who seriously thinks that way needs to arrange a congressional “junket” to London to see firsthand-—and I mean talking to actual patients in addition to government people-—just how the NHS works.

Fact is, it simply DOESN’T work. The rationing sucks and the waiting time is a joke. Inefficiency and incompetence in such a huge bureaucratic system is unavoidable.

If Newt or Willard get in, we need to ride our House members HARD to convince them to stop any such nonsense. All those guys need constant reminders that the PEOPLE are watching.

Like normal, Gingrich wants a big government solution to Healthcare that he thinks he will be able to make work. Good luck trying to convince him otherwise, because, he is after all, the smartest guy in the room

Reminds me of my favorite lines from the movie Broadcast News:

Paul, network executive(Peter Hackes):"It must be nice to always believe you know better, to always think you're the smartest person in the room".

Jane, network Producer(Holly Hunter): "No, it's awful".

"...Delay Delay"

Sorry. He's already been drummed out of the limelight by the Bush Administration, just like my congressman Doolittle has been. Doolittle didn't go on Dancing with the Stars, however!!!

Hillary Clinton as firat lady said when these two were promoted to high positions of leadership in congress: "Not much is going to get done in the house of Doolittle and Delay!"

Pay close attention. Newt Gingrich wants to replace Obamacare with Gingrichcare.

I would expect no less from CFR, NWO, Globalist, pro amnesty, Agenda 21, Climate Change Gingrich.

To pay for tending to the uninsured, hospitals prescribe unnecessary and often dangerous tests and procedures for the insured. And overcharge for them. Particularly if they have a financial interest in the testing process. There are good doctors who take their oaths seriously. But too many of them don’t. It’s not all due to lawyers.

I don't like this at all. It appears that a President Gingrich will simply substitute one unconstitutional health plan for another. Watered down or not, we do not need national health care.

Unless Newt clarifies this, I am planning to vote for Michele Bachmann in my March 6 primary.

Belle22, you are right. Sad to say that ethics are not up to standard in so many professions but among patients and doctors it should be sacred

Hey Sierra, long time, no post. Good to hear from ya. As you probably know, we haven't had much rain in these parts, so, you know the drill :^). Flush, baby, flush.

I figure if we can get a few thousand septic tanks over-flowing in your neck-of-the-woods the next few months, we'll be able to do some bass fishing at Folsom by April or May.

As and added bonus, the folks using East Bay Municipal water (EMUD) will be dining on spaghetti noodles boiled in the finest tradition. Couldn't happen to a better bunch of left-voting cork lickers. That's democracy in action, I tell 'ya.

Want to wish you folks up the hill a Merry Christmas. Another year has gone by and this state is deeper in debt, but, who cares? I don't, I care about what's real and that is our committment to each other as Americans who love this country and are willing to set things aside temporarily to respect a tradition that has no equal- a baby born that brings us all together.

My lights are burning brightly outside as I type. But what I'm truly celebrating is life and it's roll in everything I do. Viva the living, viva the little baby of Bethleham, viva all that life has to bring.

Merry Christmas.

"we haven't had much rain in these parts"

Well budster, just remember that wind doesn't blow... It sucks!!!

So each night as we watch that red and redder star shining through the atmosphere over your place, we realize that it's rare for the chinese stuff to make it all the way over here, so... It's a battle between gravity and prevailing winds, don'cha rememmer?

"That's democracy in action, I tell 'ya."

No it ain't! That's recycling dictated by them liberal cork sniffers down in East Bay Mud! You know Moonbeam was the mayor of Oakland for awhile, don'tcha?

And furthermore, Merry Christmas right back to ya. I don't much care either. If I did, I might get really up set and drive all the way back to DC and protest the unconstitutional crappola... Oh WAIT!!! That's just what I did last summer and it was GREAT, because now TIME magazine is calling the protester the "Man of the Year!" Well, it ain't been a danged year yet, right???
