I agree with parts of what you say, but Newt is NOT small government. You cannot make that of him. He was against HillaryCare, but he was for ObamaCare. He was for GW (global warming), as well as cap & trade. His reforms did not last and things are worse today that before. Yes, I know he was followed by big government presidents and House leaders, but part of the reason he was losing his base in the mid-90s was because he’d already abandoned THEM, had moved on to other things. He does not stay the course. What concerns me about Newt is his ego, and that is big enough to drive a train, his finger-to-the-wind philosophy. Let me explain. When new ideas come out, Newt supports them, then when he sees dislike among conservatives, he’s against the same thing. He realizes that the tea party is trying to make government more accountable, smaller, less corrupt, so now he’s on this bandwagon, too. If, after he is elected, there is a lot of protest about governing too conservatively, Newt will abandon conservatives to accommodate those people, too!
As a school nurse, and my husband being a counselor, we KNOW people and how they act, what to expect of them. They are predictable.

I, too, wish Palin was running. She gets it, and is willing to speak out or do whatever is necessary to save America, come what may. She is party-blind (such as color-blind) in dealing with corruption and wrong-doings. Newt will charge to safer ground to save his sorry ass when the complaints start. That is what he does. We are habitual people. I just ask: how many times do we need to be fooled before we realize that he cannot help himself.

Newt is not for ObamaCare. He is committed to repeal it and repeal, abolish, rescind everything Obama.
