The accusations against Cain were sourced to unsympathetic "victims". These women had serious problems ~ from LOSING a paternity suit (guess she had no idea which guy did it) to being the public spokesman for Bill Clinton's government in the Elian kidnapping.

Yes, a couple of differences. One, it was new "news" as it related to Herman and his public persona. Two, Herman's campaign was completely inept in how it responded to the smears. I expect that Newt will respond clearly, definitively and convincingly, the first time.
