U.S.-born Israeli author and expert on the Middle East is calling Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to task for scolding some devout Jewish practices concerning women, while she gives Muslims a pass for far worse treatment.
Hillary Clinton recently told the Israeli media that she was shocked by the practice of some devout Jews who segregate men and women on buses, shunt women onto separate sidewalks, and cow advertisers into removing images of women from posters. Some women have taken to dressing head-to-toe like Islamist fundamentalists.
But Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar has responded to Clinton's remark by pointing out that those practices are not required by Jewish law, and David Rubin, author of The Islamic Tsunami: Israel and America in the Age of Obama, says Clinton is making a mountain out of a molehill.
"Queen Hillary doesn't seem to realize that Israel is a free country, that Israel is a country in which women have equal rights," he notes. "If you look at the Islamic world, there's no such thing. In Islam, wife-beating is permissible, is considered to be the husband's obligation."

Ignoring real Civil rights for women , while knocking on Israel.

Hillary Clinton is a fraud and really not that smart. All hype and no substance except an unbelievable ruthless grasping for power. I remember when Medvedev was first elected - she couldn't even remember the guy's name.
Just the other day Clinton gave Egypt a lecture on civil rights and told Egypt that it would be expected to conform to international norms. I almost wonder if her badgering of Israel wasn’t a done preemptively to create the impression of evenhandedness.
Except they were "private" comments, out of reach of journalists and not meant for publication. Personally, I think that enviornment simply made her feel comfortable enought to expose her bias against Jews, maybe just religious Jews.
I’d like to see Hillary visit one of those muslim countries and refuse to don a hijab.
That would really show them that she’s for women’s rights!
