Good grief - how should I know.

He left the House in 1998. The ad was in 2007 to promote global warming concerns. He was probably asked to help.

Newt has admitted the ad was his most singularly worst decision.

He was probably asked to help.

So what you are saying is, he's a socialist if he's asked to help? Sorry, that's bad enough. Can you name any other conservative who did that, when, "asked to help?" No, because there isn't one. Even Bush and McCain wouldn't do what Gingrich did. Hence, he's waaay to the left of them.

I got a solution for you:

Obama only did the healthcare bills, because he was asked to help.

Just like magic, by you definition, Obama is a conservative.

Obama only did porkulus because he was asked to help.

Poof, Obama is a conservative. Just by using your semantic twist, we can make everyone a conservative!

He left the House in 1998.

Actually, it was 1999. Do you know why he left? Because when patriots were trying to save this country from Bill Clinton, he was conducted adultery with his aide. Which he knew, if discovered, would save Bill Clinton. The conservative movement in this country has never recovered. How many times do you want to be stabbed in the back by the same person?

"Newt has admitted the ad was his most singularly worst decision."

You know, I hope you and others are just as forgiving of Perry and misstatements/gaffes he's made and apologized for/re-thought.

But I expect, for some reason, that won't be the case.
