Newt today said that if Pelosi wants to disclose information about himself from when she was on the ethics committee, that the House should immediately file charges against her as that is a violation of the rules of the House:
First of all Id like to thank Speaker Pelosi for what I regard as an early Christmas gift. If shes suggesting shes gonna use material she developed while she was on the ethics committee, that is a fundamental violation of the rules of the House and I would hope members would immediately file charges against her the second she does it.

Whoever is the last man standing is, by definition, the best available candidate.
Guess we should just all resign ourselves to 4 more years of Obama. No one will ever be a good enough candidate so let the circular firing squad commence! ;-)
Oh yes, I know, one can always count on the GOP for support when one is in trouble, much like Herman Cain got their support.
But, Newt, along with Bob Livingston, and others seem so eager to step down as soon as anything is said.
Whereas democrats almost never give up a seat, because a seat = power...except of course in the case of Weiner, which was anunusual exception to the rule.
Easy Semper....easy!
It is a very very very long way to next November; much can and probably will happen.
It is a bit surprising that once again the rinos have put forth their best....and it culminates in the likes of rom-knee and noot (as if mcloser wasn't as bad as it could get)! Tis a puzzlement for sure! If these are examples of the best the rinos have, then it is high time for a third party! But not right now.
If you've been around as long as I have, we should not be above voting AGAINST as well as being strongly FOR.
In this election year (almost), I can assure you that I will proudly, with head held high, back ramrod straight, showing no fear, and with resolute step vote AGAINST the stain and the current regime.
If I am unable to get behind a candidate...I can damn sure block one!
The tax charges are the only ones that are not still an issue. Newt will withdraw before he lets the real dirt out in the air. The only question is whether Nanzi is ready to retire so that she can divulge what she knows.
You’re welcome. Newt is far from perfect - but he is knowledgeable, confident, optimistic, experienced and is the most despised ‘outsider’ by the Washington elites; Democrat and Rino.
His power is necessarily going to be ‘from the voters’. Newt will have to surround himself with, and delegate details to an exceptional & loyal cabinet.
Our patron, JR is now on board the ‘Newt shute’ and that shows me how persuasive Newt is becoming.
Talk intelligently and carry a can of whup a$$.
Pretty darned funny, considering the tone and content of your last few posts.
I don't like the guy and more importantly, I don't trust him. I don't understand how anyone here does.
I am not ashamed of my position. I just wish we had a real conservative. He has schmoozed with and been played by Dems for decades.
Newt is only talking conservative because he is running. And everyone is falling for it because there isn't anyone else to hand their hat on.
Again, I don't trust him.
Oh please! This is nonsense and you know it. It’s one thing not to like Gingrich, it’s another to babble along about him “setting the GOP back 50 years.” Why don’t you head on over to DU were they like this sort of sh!t!
I will be voting against Obama, no matter who the GOP candidate is.
If I am unable to get behind a candidate...I can damn sure block one!
...while I was posting this...
I will be voting against Obama, no matter who the GOP candidate is.
So we are on the same page. And you are right, there is a lot of time between now and November, and I should take it easy about the situation.
But I am floored that FR has turned Newt into a rockstar overnight instead of admitting that they will vote for him because it's all we've got.
Where were they when Newt was polling in single digits? No one thought he had a chance!
So you’re calling me self-rightous? Gee I thought I was just keeping my head above water defending myself for daring to express an opinion about Newt’s infamous couch photo. I’ll work on that self-rightous tone, but as for my snarkiness, I’m keeping it nice warm and fuzzy, especially when responding to incredibly astute independent conservaties.
I get your point, but the best available candidate is not the same as a good candidate.
Yeah Noot. What the hell did you do now?
I like Newt’s feistiness, but, like a lot of other things about him, he’s inconsistent. Eg: he came on like gangbusters over the gov’t shutdown in 95, but he caved in the end and went down meekly. Like the Pelosi couch ad shows, he goes kissy-face with this vicious partisan who tried to destroy him. How tough is that? I love to watch Newt debate and fence with media jerks and all that, but I can’t figure him out in the end. He’s like a box of chocolates: you never know what you’re gonna get, but some of ‘em will be awesome and some of ‘em will make you wretch.
All too well. But that is not the only problem Newt has.
He has more baggage than Paris Hilton.
I think a lot of us have learned a lot of things since 1995.
