That was Newt’s claim, and I’m fairly sure that if the facts were otherwise, it would have been leaked to the MSM, which was chomping at the bit over the Tiffany’s “scandal.”
Don’t think that would be a scandal, but it has been joked about a lot. If you pay your debts there’s no scandal.
