Riiiiiight..
And there are only 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S...
I read somewhere about 6 months ago that the Obama “brain trust” feels he can be re-elected if unemployment is at 8% or better. Watch for the numbers to be cooked between now and next November....
Yes, and that is exactly what happened. There are many discourage workers who have stopped looking.
Trusted? They’re flat out lies. The only thing that’s changed is that the economy got worse. Bit, hey, it could have been true.
Tut, tut—a mere fact. Not important. The only things that are important are Marxists and what they want to believe.
How can we continue to have 400,000+ newly unemployed each week but the rate drop 1% when it would take more than a million more employed to drop the rate that much?
There are 130 million employed, meaning each 1% is about 1.3 million people, yet these liars are trying to say a mere 0.12 million represents a 1% drop.
The Obama liars did this a few months back, claiming the rate was dropping while reporting even higher unemployment.
Quite sickening watching the performance on CBS The Early Show this morning as they never mentioned the actual number of folks leaving the work force, described it as some or few and blamed retirements for a lot of that.
They aren’t being any more honest regarding this supposed good news than they were with the perpetual bad news.
On the issue of the stock market they say it will still be volatile because of “those issues affecting it” without discussing “those issues” such as the world economy actually being in the toilet and ready to explode versus their Obama supporting lies.
those issues affecting it
They will later claim they “discussed the issues and have not been in the tank for Zero.”
This can get a little confusing with the MSM massaging/lying about the unemployment rate. The latest figures show there is no real joy:

Jobless claims back above 400,000 level again

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) The number of Americans who applied for jobless benefits last week rose above 400,000 again, an indication that the pace of hiring in the U.S. likely remains modest at best.
Initial claims for unemployment compensation climbed by 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 402,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. It was the highest level in a month.
Applications from two weeks ago were revised up to 396,000 from an original reading of 393,000. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had expected new requests for jobless benefits to total 393,000 in the week ended Nov. 26, which included the Thanksgiving holiday.
A little bit refreshing for a "change" to go along with the lack of hope from the dope!!!
While Deer Leader heads off to his adopted state of Hawaii for 17 days?
Ahahahahahhaaa ahhhaha ahaha...whew! The rate "tumbled"!
As Dana Carvey as the “church lady” on SNL used to say, back in the day... “Well! Isn’t that special!!!” (with fist on hip)
>> seasonal jobs
Indeed. 2,400 per State during the Holiday season. BFD.
Excellent point GE
How long before the annual propaganda file comes out:
“Unemployment seen rising as declining sales hurt retailers due to cold weather....”
It is all in how the numbers are counted ...
In order for the unemployment rate to drop 0.4%, about 450,000 jobs have to be created.
The feds are taking the 315,000 people who DROPPED OFF the unemployment rolls [because they are discouraged or their benfits ran out] and counting them as IF they obtained work [which they DID NOT]. The feds "reasoning"is that if you dropped off the unemploymeny rolls then you MUST be working. Har !!! Har !!!
To this number, the feds then ADD the number of jobs created [140,000] in order to obtain the magic number of 450,000 ...
Smoke and mirrors ...
If each of the 4,100 U.S. Wal-Mart stores hired 10 seasonal workers that in it’s self is 41,000 jobs
At this rate, when 50,000 jobs get created in a year from now the unemployment rate will drop by 10%.
