Let’s get this in laymen’s terms. Is Ron Paul just another practioner of Voodpoo politics?

Paul was voted earmark king of congress.
He puts these earmarks in budgets, then votes against them, so he can claim “I vote against earmarks (or whatever).
Beck is right on this.

He didn’t need to say any of that. All he should have said is what we all know already.... “he’s a nut”.

Ron Paul will not be the nominee.

I used to be a big Beck fan. Now I can't stand him. He is more arrogant than Obama. He thinks he's a prophet or an oracle or something. It's CREEPY.

Andrew Wilkow has said pretty much the same thing about Paul's ear-marking history, and he's right.

What makes earmarks objectionable is not merely the act of spending tax dollars. Rather it is the way earmarks are horse-traded for votes.

Simply stated, earmarks are the currency of corruption on Capitol Hill.

Beck correctly stated that Paul adds many earmarks to spending bills, and then votes against the spending bills.

If you don't think that this type of slimy tactic by Paul to buy votes in his district and also keep his clueless followers believing he is pure, you are as morally bankrupt as he is. This is a stunt that needs more and more exposure to demonstrate what a typical politician and cracked pot Paul is.

Just posted this to Beck’s FB page:
Glenn, Long time fan and view your work vital. I’ve known and respected Ron Paul since ‘83 and consider him one of the few trustworthy men in Malfunction Junction. That said, I just read the following post at FreeRepublic and need to know if it is correct: (Your post here).
Added this:
Not that it will matter much, but one of my earliest ancestors was an associate of and fought beside a man you claim to greatly admire — as we all should: George Washington.
His name was John Carpenter and his story is here:

They all need to quit spending money. Doesn’t matter whether it is in anyone’s budget or allocation or who requested it. Shut it down.

All money not allocated or earmarked is not deleted from the budget...

So what? That's like a thief saying "If I didn't steal from the unguarded store, someone else would have". A corrupt practice is a corrupt practice, and it should not be rationalized away.

And I say that as someone who has very little use for Glenn Beck.

The people who call Ron Paul a nut don’t understand the evils of the Fedreal Reserve and how this banking cartel encourages war for their own profit and the demise of our military. The three wars we have fought have been fought for nothing. Only to turn these countries back to the Taliban.
Unfortunately Ron Paul in a threat to the establishment so they ignore him. If he runs as an independent I will still vote for him. I have stopped my donations to the GOP.
Glenn Beck is a big cry baby. Beck and Boehner should have a good cry together. Real men need to run this country.

Ron Paul was my representative when I lived in Texas. He would get his share of earmarks, but loaded them onto bills that were sure to pass, and then voted against them.

His campaign literature was full of how his record was to never vote for an earmark for his district.

Of course he cut deals to vote for others’ earmarks, so they would vote for his. That is how he got the ‘crazy uncle’ reputation. He had to support Democratic positions to get Democrats to vote for his earmarks.

So, I'll assume that you are the Mod at this hour. Hmm...my benign response on this thread gets pulled yet posts that directly threaten me with a rifle are allowed to remain from other threads.

The Perrybots get a pass, even after directly disrespecting Jim. This place is going downhill fast. It needs to stop. Why?

After 11 years here I want to know why.

Wow. What a thread.
You’re quite a Ron Paul supporter to worry about such things.

Yes, Gingrich is using half-truths.

Just yesterday he said, “That Ron Paul is half-crazy.”
