I wonder how recruiting is coming along? I know of several military families who are have served for generations, but are strongly discouraging their children from doing the same because of the repeal
Right here.... 7 uncles, my father and my mos 0326, discouraged my son from serving these tools. If he wants to join after college , it’s on him. But he’s not doing PLC/ROTC or service academies, till he reads more and works on his own. He just finished some Hayek for AP economics and mentioned that our country is “turning into 1984” type of place. I think he’s getting the big picture.

Good for him. If I was a father, I would never encourage my son to go into the military of today. IMHO, I think the libs pushed this repeal through hoping it would reduce recruitment. Then, they can use it as an excuse to reinstate the draft
I would just counsel them not to join because the chain of command is suspect, the political control is immoral, there is no confidence that they will be deployed in a mission developed in a sound, professional military manner, they may be sued for engaging the enemy, they may be sent into harms way for immoral political reasons, they may die from trying to obey an impossible PC dictat, there is no operational security - no confidence that the details of a mission have not been leaked, simply no confidence in the commanders. Now you got all these Carter and Clinton generals getting booted upstairs. It’s a recipe for losing wars and getting a lot of our guys killed. It makes me want to puke.
