NBC News has confirmed with a source familiar with the matter that Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, will endorse Rick Perry this week.
Arpaio will campaign with Perry in New Hampshire this week, the source said.
The Arizona sheriff is known as a vehement backer of tough immigration laws and was a vocal supporter of his own state's controversial enforcement laws.
Perry critics have described him as soft on immigration since the Florida debate, when he called opponents "heartless" for deriding his policy of in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants in Texas. .

Newt essentially dismissed Sarah as an airhead and dissed theTea Party. If she endorses anyone, it will be Rick.

Obviously, you’re a regular there.
Great tagline you have. Dead on the money!

Perry is a good guy, generally. Not perfect from the conservative point of view in dealing with illegals who have been left to cross the border in Texas, but he is an American-American man. Liberal-tarians, Rinos and leftists hate his guts.
Cainiac?
All I said was that he’s Joe’s pick. If Sarah Palin confirms his choice, I think he wins Iowa.
To put it in Texan:
A good pup needs a lot of attention, then he either hunts or he doesn’t and I think Rick Perry can hunt.
moonshinner_09; South40; Impy; BillyBoy; Dengar01 ALL agree with you. The sheriff is a RINO!!!
Cain is the one who can win (and the one who gets Palin supporters and can tap into the Black vote).
I shall not disturb your fantasy ...
I can’t argue with that can I ? It doesn’t mean I’m happy but others will be.
rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Will Sarah be next? I think she will if it looks like Newt.
Arpaio is almost EIGHTY years old (next June) and this is not the first time he has erred in judgment on a candidate (he went with Butch Napolitano over Matt Salmon in a VERY close race that Salmon lost — to the detriment of Arizona, and later the country). He needs to stick to doing his job and forgo endorsements that make him look stupid and easily fooled.
Just asking how does this factor in ? The group behind the successful recall of Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce is now targeting infamous Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.
Citizens For A Better Arizona is gauging interest among Arizona voters for a recall of Brewer (R), saying they would back a recall effort if they get 5,000 people to sign a volunteer petition in which each person pledges to collect 100 signatures. If Governor Brewer is recalled, I commit to being one of 5,000 citizens to collect 100 signatures, the petition says.
For Brewer to be recalled, they would have to collect 432,000 valid signatures. Her term is currently set to end in 2014.
CFBA was the driving force behind the recall election of Pearce (R), who is infamous for drafting the states immigration crackdown. The efforts were primarily focused on mobilizing Hispanic voters to get out to the polls in order to elect a Republican with a more moderate stance on immigration.
On the same volunteer petition, there is also an option for voters to join a Citizens Posse in an effort to target Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is up for a sixth term in next years election. Hold Sheriff Arpaio accountable by attending actions, making calls and recruiting volunteers, the petition says.
Randy Parraz and Chad Snow, who co-founded Citizens for a Better Arizona, announced the new effort Monday. Our job is to listen to the citizens of Arizona, Parraz told the Arizona Republic.
Brewer said of the recall effort Monday: I havent given it any thought.
Arpaio also dismissed the efforts. Its my job to enforce all the laws, he said. If they dont like it, thats their problem.

Now switch to Brewer..Most GOP governors refuse to join calls for Attorney General Holder’s resignation
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, whose state was home base for the failed operation, resisted calling for Holders resignation. A spokesman for Brewer told The Hill that the Obama administration has badly mishandled Fast and Furious and its response to the operation. He said she was looking forward to the results of the congressional investigation and the DOJs inspector general (IG) probe, which has been underway since March.
The individuals responsible for this failed operation need to be held accountable, said Matthew Benson, communications director for Brewer, in an email to The Hill.
The governor is not a one-woman judge and jury, however, so shes not willing to call for the attorney general to resign until all of the information has been presented. But it is clear that Fast and Furious has undermined Governor Brewers confidence in Attorney General Holder, given that this failed operation occurred under his watch.

Something is amiss here..
I ain’t the one supporting La Raza Rick, sugar. Talk about fantasies...
I can’t believe how much traction Newt has here on FR. Makes you wonder.
But he is a loser. No swing voters or independents will vote for Newt.
In 2008, he endorsed Romney over McCain. He won't do that this time, because Perry is better on immigration issues than any other candidate on that stage.
I hope Perrys next endorsement is from The Family Leader in Iowa.
That is aso an anti-Ron Paul argument you have, one of the millions out there.
He endorsed Romney last go ‘round, just like the Herminator did. Anybody running a half-hearted campaign could beat Obama except for Ron Paul.
