Would you rather have Romney? Because that’s what you’re going to get...

Do you have a convincing argument that it would be better under Gingrich than Romney? I'm not so sure. Both have and would support mandated health care. Both have, and would, support some form of Amnesty. Both have and would continue to support big government and big spending. Gingrich appears to be more wacky when it comes to the environment. Neither are trustworthy or honest.

The choice between them is no choice at all.

I don't need a convincing argument that one would be better than the other. My main point is that if Newt is successfully taken out - you will get Romney. Now everybody is going to have to pick one or the other. Will it be Newt or is Romney going to win by default?

I'm sure many will argue that one of the others can - and perhaps will - win. It's my opinion that it's highly unlikely that any of the others will be able to stop Romney. Bachmann, Perry, and Cain, have all flown high only to eventually crash and burn. I don't believe any of those will experience a phoenix like resurrection. The fact that the electorate has already taken those candidates for a spin and has found them wanting, makes their resurgence even less likely. Santorum and Huntsman never even got off the ground. Paul is a nutcase and will not be the nominee.

Time is also a factor. There's not allot of time left to test drive another Not Romney candidate. Newt may very well be the last best chance to stop Romney.

Yes there was Huckabee and Iowa. Of course as we all know there was no GOP nominee Huckabee, let alone President Huckabee. Still, if another candidate has a chance - a remote chance - of being the next Not Romney, then it may be Santorum. Maybe Bachmann too, but even less likely. At least that's how I see it.

So if you are asking me - I will gladly pull the lever for Newt before I would pull it for Romney. I believe that this is what the choice has come down to. For me there is no question which way to go.
