Well, in my opinion he gave a good answer, because he said we do need a border first.
then we need to make decisions about those who are here.
some of those who are here are going to get to stay, and he wants to prioritize among those who are here. And of course he is into the whole math/science/engineer thing.
For me, there is no point in talking about anything until you control the border.
Once you do that, then you can have some interesting discussions and I don’t mind some folks staying - so long as we have a border. And that is what Newt is saying.
Why should anyone who is here illegally be allowed to stay? What message does that send to the over 4 million intending immigrants waiting overseas for their turn to enter the US. They have filled out all the paperwork, got the necessary background checks, and physcial exams. Yet, if you got here illegally and probably are working illegally and committed ID theft, you are allowed to stay. Does the Rule of Law mean anything?
