We conservatives need a reality check every once in a while. Fact: We don.t have enough votes to force a candidate. The independents chose presidents so we have to work within that frame work, and before you get excited I don't like it any better than you do.The top three candidate right now are Newt, Mitt and Paul Newt has been steadily climbing from 2% to the present, Mitt and Paul have stayed pretty much where they are. Most of the rest have come and gone or are not going to show at all. Times wasting : It appears these are the choices.Sorry but reality is what it is.

Fact: We don.t have enough votes to force a candidate.Cripes, given the polling history of the last few months, in four weeks Newt could be right back down in single digits. Nothing is inevitable at this point.
I think Newt is the wrong answer at this point to the question Who is the best choice for anti-Romney - for the conservative reasons I have given. I feel no compunction to pretend otherwise. If Newt emerges as the lead anti-Romney after a three or four caucuses and primaries, I will support him over Mitt. But that point has not been reached yet.
