There actually is a so-called "institute of higher learning" called The New School in NYC, and it does have facilities that are, I believe, at or near where that building is. It's actually a rather liberal-laden, festering sore of progressivism, so it's no wonder that it willingly rolled over and let this bunch pretend that they commandeered the building.

I would guess that this is merely one more in a round of temper-tantrums thrown by a bunch of very-much-coddled kiddie students who have no concept of how good they really have it.

The New School?

Is it owned by ACORN or the unions?

Yes, "The New School" is in and around Union Square http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_School http://www.newschool.edu/ and charges $18,510 (full-time) per term to study the highly marketable skill of "Drama" for example. (Plus room and board, etc. etc.)

If I were TD Bank, my lawyers would be contacting them.

The school was founded by the historian Charles Beard about 100 years ago. It was known as the New School for Social Research, and billed itself right from the start as “progressive.” It still is very liberal.

Years ago I went on a mission outreach to Tampico Mexico and part of the outreach was ministering to the people who live in the city dump. Who daily scrounge for food and anything they can recycle and sell to make life better in their dirt floor cardboard and metal homes. I went down with a youth group outreach for WIM and it really opened my eyes and theirs of how fortunate we are to live in America.
