What is congress doing now, even with the massive government overreach, that requires them to be in session as much of the year as they currently are? My only problem with this idea is that a portion...those related to national security, would need to either be required more time in DC or be able to meet for briefings remotely. The rest of them are not needed all year. The world doesn’t stop when they leave for a month in August. The bureaucracy is always there. They are the ones doing the legwork. The legislators are just there to meet in committees and vote on what the bureaucracy is doing.

Maybe if they were not together so much they would not pat each others back because they owed each other. I live in Texas and so glad our state only meets every other year. A year of peace. Usually when they do assemble they hammer out their differences and leave as soon as possible as most have jobs to go to when they are not is session.
