I think these are pretty intensive & fair interviews; the last one with Gingrich was very informative. Hope Perry proves to the world he's not the idiot of popular caricature; he's my 2nd choice, if Gingrich should fall.

I don’t think Cain or Newt will be able to survive their baggage and nobody wants Huntsman or Romney. Bachmann and Santorum have neither struck a chord.

There’s a certain group of miscreants — I think they are mostly Cain supporters, who just jump on all the Perry threads to post insults.

They don’t say anything substantive but just really childish, ugly insults.

I’ve never done that on a Cain thread and I don’t think most Perry supporters do.

There were plenty of Perry supporters who early on after Perry got in the race, were pushing the idea that a vote for anybody but Perry was a vote for Romney. I'm not saying you did it altura, as far as I know you didn't, but I remember seeing it way too often and I think that is what really energized a lot of people to jump into Perry threads. Pushing the notion that a vote for a certain candidate is the same as a vote for Romney is about as childish and ugly as you can get. I see some Cain supporters doing it, although I'm not sure they if they are doing it ironically to mock the Perry supporters who claimed that Cain = Romney or if they are being serious.

This happens every election year though. This time around, the media is taking a more active roll in trying to give us Mittens, but this time around, the Tea Party movement is in existence and not going to allow them to do that.

Are you referring to people who post a certain number of threads supporting their candidate every single day, and who include a lot of pictures of their candidate?

I don't think they are in "madly in love with a candidate", I think they are getting paid to do post. I don't care how much you like a candidate, no sane person would wake up and post a bunch of threads like that every single day and post all those photos as if Cain or Perry were the head of some weird cult of personality. I get a chuckle out of certain people who do post those threads or who like to post a lot of candid photos of their candidates, because it just reminds me of something like you'd see in North Korea.

I thought that Rick Perry did fine. I was born and raised out in the sticks here in Virginia, so I’m not a fast talker, nor a slick debater. Like Perry, most folks around here take their time while speaking their mind, there’s nothing wrong with that.

Newt is a fast talker and a noted debater, that’s about all he’s done for the past 25 years, he should be good at it. IMO, other than his time in Congress he’s not actually done anything that qualifies him to be president.

John McCain had good debates against Obama to no avail. Debates between the Democratic and GOP candidates rarely change minds, especially not the minds of partisans.

He shouldered that burden for all of us and no one had the right to mock him for it.

People went overboard, but bullypulpit knew he was treading on thin ice himself when he began insulting Free Republic. He even came into the Texas forum and made some goodbye posts the first time he thought he was going to get banned. He was acting like he would get banned for being a Rick Perry supporter, but I called him out on that and told him if he got banned, it would be for the attitude he was taking.

You know what though? bullypulpit could have taken the highroad and could have been the better man in the last few exchanges. He could have refrained from insulting Free Republic as a whole, and Jim Robinson.

Many of the posts on illegal immigration were racist rants against Mexican Americans. If one were looking to organize a new Klan against Mexican Americans, the Free Republic would be a fertile recruiting ground. I kept rolling with my posts. The truth will set them free, I thought.

Bullypulpit then went on to claim that Jim Robinson is running a scam and is "hiding profit as expenses".

So defend bullypulpit all you want, but after he got banned, he started posting on his blog that FR was a good place to recruit racists and that Jim Robinson is running a scam, so as far as I'm concerned, bullypulpit deserved all of the scorn that was heaped on him.

That is saying allot. I was working in a Computer/Distribution Center for Burger King (Pillsbury) (3rd Job) at the time Herman was turning Godfathers around, It is remarkable what he did. It is remarkable that Pillsbury didn't sell off Burger King-Someone with INSIGHT, Wherewithal and cajones made it work.

I give Herman that, The next President is gonna have to work with a screwed up Legislature and besides NEWT, which Conservatives will never Elect, who else has worked with that, Bachmann, Santorum, I give up help me here.

If Cain's your Man, Bless you, Go Far, Go Happy but try in the future to refrain from attacking us Perry ppl.

I wasn't defending Bully. I was angered over the ammunition they used against him. I was in the Texas board too so I know that he was expecting it and reached the point that he was angry enough to provoke it.

But I grew up in the Intel community and spent a lot of time on SAC bases and I have a special affinity for B-52 Drivers and their Crews.

I remember those alarms going off and then hearing those engines spoil up as they raced down the runways. You felt it all the way to your bones. Nobody moved as the whole base and surrounding communities waited knowing if the engines did not throttle down and those planes took off that we were going to die. Knowing that those men aboard those planes knew their fates and the fates of the people they would leave on the ground was awe inspiring to me and I took deep offense to someone using that as a punch line.

People on the Texas board know that Joe is a friend but I'm not defending him as a friend, I am defending his service and what I believe Free Republic is all about. I understand full well that this is Jim's site and we are here as his guest, but I am a Freeper and that is something I wear with pride. I came to this place because of it's reputation of being the definition of what Conservatism is. Lately the bullying and the attacks on each other has hurt but I understand that this is an extraordinary election and we all have everything we believe this Country is riding on the outcome so I've ignored it, but I will not ignore attacks against someones service, that is too far from who and what we all claim to be.
