President Obama should abandon his run for a second term and turn over the reins of the Democratic Party to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, two one-time Democratic pollsters wrote in Monday's Wall Street Journal, which appeared online Sunday.
Patrick H. Caddell and Douglas E. Schoen argued that just as Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson decided not to pursue additional runs though they could have, Obama should do the same.

When has she ever???!!!
She’s got more to stand on during the last 3 years than Romper Room.... And frankly it would make the democratic chances far better if Romper Room were nowhere near the ticket, but I don’t see the fool doing it.
If he does, the entire calculus changes. Right now, its the republican’s to lose, PROVIDED they don’t put up someone utterly inept and incompetent.. ala Cain/Perry/Bachmann.
Change the Democratic candidate and you change the race drastically.
Hillary didn’t look good on her best day.
Nobama will be pouring the goodies out to holder’s people and the far left like Santa just hitting the Lotto.
Don’t care who they “try” to blame heevhooing nobama on, his 96% is going to be po’d like a russian pfc.
In 08, the dem establishment did not help hitlery. The dem biggies will be raking in the dough though nobama, just like in 08, win or not. They’ll stick with the Indo-Kenyan, count on it, if even half-heartedly.
Won’t happen, Obama is for Obama, as this article points out, there isn’t anyway the narcissist in chief will bow out and let Hillary run.
TAQIYYA - I won’t lie, Hillary has gone to pot. She’d need a few months at a spa to look decent again.
Now, Tequila.....is a different story, lol.
Schoen is a Clintonite, and Caddell (who goes back to Jimmy Carter) has similar views. However badly Obama has done, he's going to run and he'll get the nomination.
Obama has more control over the process than Truman did, and there's nobody on the horizon who's mounting an uphill challenge to him as Eugene McCarthy did to Johnson.
Democrats were once the unruly party --
"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat." Will Rogers
"Democrats never agree on anything, that's why they're Democrats. If they agreed with each other, they would be Republicans." Will Rogers
-- but that hasn't been true for about 20 years.
