Olivier outshined everyone in everything he ever did. That’s not a fair criticism. It looks like hell by today’s standards, but his Richard III still stands out in my mind as the first film I ever saw where I understood what all the adults were talking about when it came to talent. Until that time I thought Mike Connors was talented because Mannix was cool.
