Top Ten Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time by Ben Shapiro
Its been almost two years since I posted at Big Hollywood regarding the Top 10 Most Overrated Directors of All Time. Ive had a chance to reflect and think about the crimes I committed in that post. And, to paraphrase Mr. Eko from the greatest TV show of all time, Lost, I ask no forgiveness because I have committed no sin except leaving Spike Lee and Tim Burton off the list, that is.
So, because you all enjoyed that list so much, and because I apparently have a death wish, its time for another: The Top 10 Most Overrated Actors/Actresses of All Time.
Unlike last time, I will claim that these are objective facts, not subjective opinions, so that all my critics may have full liberty to attack me (To those same critics who claimed last time that I phrased my opinions in an objective manner, this is called being facetious. That means Im kidding. Also, seriously? That was your criticism?).

Please show me where anybody from Hollywierd is worthy of anything, except being so out of touch it defies logic!
I was disappointed in Jackson’s selection.
Viggo’s the weakest actor in the trilogy. The role should have been given to either Jim Caviezel or Liam Neeson.
Bob Hope and Gary Sinise come to mind.
Also Shirley Temple-Black.
I thought Brad Pitt was great in “13 Monkeys”. His crazy scene/monologue was brilliant and looks like it was filmed as one take, not clipped. If so, he really learned some very hard lines, moves, and looks.
DeNiro is also very good, and I must admit that Sean Penn can act - actually he is quite versatile (and leftist crazy).
Still think Julia Roberts is very pretty and sassy. Not bad as Erin Brockevich.
Halle Barry just looks good no matter what role she is playing. Sometimes it is nice to see a woman look like a woman and not a man-imitator.
Don't feel bad.
I look at the covers of magazines like "People" and "Us" when I'm in the grocery check-out line and wonder, "Who the heck are these people?"
Ronald Reagan. :)
We’ve seen a number of films by the actors/actresses you’ve mentioned, including the films you’ve mentioned.
Pitts best, and only, performance worth mentioning are his roles in Fight Club and Snatch.
DeNiro plays DeNiro. Was it a stretch for Penn in I Am Sam? One dimensional characters-all.
I have other disappointments about Jackson's otherwise brilliant realization of the world, notably the fact that Christopher Lee's best work ended up on the cutting room floor and those grotesque Animatronic Ents - what was he thinking? But Viggo was the worst. IMHO.
Bingo
Agreed. That’s reminds me: I forgot to add Barbara Streisand to that list.
Sean Penn was good in “Bad Boys” as a juvenile hoodlum, but that’s about it.
Most overrated:
Sarah Jessica Barker.
Some may say that the whispering Arwen was a disaster, but Liv Tyler wasn’t a main character in the film.
Uh, hello? Barack Obama. Needs a script 25-7.
I watched that film when it was first released. The only scene Penn managed to prove convincing is the can swinging episode. And he swings like a girl.
Any movie star who claims to be an actor is overrated.
My beef with hollywood actors is the way all the most famous ones read the parts for animated films. As if their famous faces are needed. As if their aren’t people quite talented in voice whose faces are not known. It seems rather piggish of the famous ones.
glad I’m not the only one who thinks that...:O)
No way you can even get started with 10 names. The list has to have at least 200 names to cover the top 20 percent.
