Until, at least for some, until someone asks if they’re on the same page with the God of the Christian bible (none of this karma stuff, we believe in sin), then they get all upset and call it pointless bigotry. When in fact, theology matters greatly when reasoning where to go with issues like this that come with questions about how to treat all parties involved in or touched by the crime.
All religions believe in sin, and Thomas Jefferson’s statement in this regard is very apt:
“Reading, reflection and time have convinced me that the interests of society require the observation of those moral precepts only in which all religions agree...”
