Is Jefferson Davis one of your ancestors?

None of Jefferson Davis' sons survived to have children, and the only living descendants are through the only one of his daughters that actually married (I think she married a Hays). One of her kids or grandkids changed his last name to Davis for some odd reason. I only know this because my sister does genealogy research and was working with this older lady who swore up and down she was one of Jefferson Davis' great-granddaughters (she wasn't).
