Whether on the hand, the forehead or on the shirt front, it is a BAD number and why should anyone be forced to wear it?

I hope he wins a fortune!

I also think this man should not have had to wear that 666 sticker and certainly should not be fired over it! Whoa! Get fired for not wearing a sticker?

How intolerant of this boss and this company!

I hope he wins the right to his job back and pay for missing any work!
And an apology from the company and his boss should also be a requirement!

One good thing about this story is that people who don’t know the Bible regarding the warning not to take the mark of the beast will read about this and maybe ask, “What is wrong with wearing that number?” Perhaps the rest of us will be well equipped to give a Biblical answer. If not see scripture references below.
It sure looks like the times of our day are heading fast to this mark of the beast. How easy to implement this system of the mark of the beast in our world today. (It will one day be required of people to put the mark of the beast on their hand or forehead or they will not be able to buy or sell.) People who don’t know the Bible might actually like this idea since, then no one could steal his or her info (All his/her info would be in his/her hand or forehead-including the mark of the beast).

Here are some passages of scripture regarding this:

Revelation 13

The Beast out of the Sea

1 The dragon[a] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?”
5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.[b]

9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.

10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[c] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[d]

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

The Beast out of the Earth

11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[e] That number is 666.

Revelation 14:9
A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand,

Revelation 14:9-10 (NIV)

9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.

Revelation 14:10-12
New International Version (NIV)
10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” 12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

Revelation 16:2
The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

Revelation 19:20
But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Revelation 20:4
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

You can read more in the last book of the Bible called Revelations.

“It is a bad number....”

I have a neighbor who received tags for a new car. The last numbers were 666. She went to MVA and wanted to exchange them since she felt it was the mark of the beast. Well, MVA wouldn’t do it but did say (hint, hint) that new tags would be given if tags were stolen or lost. So, she waited a few days and went back to MVA... seems that the tags just fell off the car or something. I don’t blame her at all and she felt better with tags without those numbers.

While I think forcing the workers wear the stickers every day is a rather silly and over the top policy, I very seriously doubt he was fired for that alone. As I said before, I’m guessing Billy had a long history of being a bit of a wack job and screw up at work and this was either the last straw or Billy was fired for a completely different reason and he’s just trying to get some cash on the ole lawsuit gravy train – better than winnin’ da lottery doncha know.

If the company’s HR department did indeed fire him for the sole (or soul :) ,) reason of not wearing the sticker (no matter what number was on it) and made derogatory comments about his religion, then the company’s HR department needs to be replaced. If Billing was wrongfully terminated, then he’s IMO entitled to back wages and nothing more and certainly not a “fortune” as you say. That’s part of what’s wrong with our country and our legal system; people think that anything and everything that offends them is grounds for lawsuit and mega big bucks for their “pain and suffering”. I for one hope it comes out that the company was right to fire Billy for reasons unrelated to what he’s claiming and that he doesn’t get a dime.

“….it is a BAD number”

So what if by sheer coincidence your paycheck for a week’s wages came to $666.00? Would you refuse your paycheck, tear it up, ask the payroll department to make it another amount? If you came to me with such a request, I’d have to restrain myself from laughing at you and no, I wouldn’t reissue your paycheck.

BTW – I have a nephew who was born on 6/6/76 at 3:33 AM. We like to kid him about being the Anti-Christ but we are, just kidding.

Why do you say that? Here is the actual Bible passage, Revelation 13:16-18:

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

So, we will only be able to buy and sell if we have one of three different things: the mark, the name, or the number. The number is 666, and knowing it will enable us to eat (buy & sell) without taking the mark. Taking the mark would condemn us.
