Their parents pay high taxes for public schools and you think they will like their kids cleaning those schools? No way! Besides the janitors know how to do it better, and taxes are paying for it. How about lowering the salaries of the teachers and principals? Now that’s a good idea!

One of my sons got a summer job as one of the janitors at a local school. It was not beneath him and he made good money that summer.

I did not mind him taking a job as a janitor and I paid taxes for the schools. They paid less for his summer job than for the full time union janitors used during the school year. It would have been a great way to make money for a high school kid to work a part time cleaning job after school, too. It beat working retail in pay an in less aggravation in dealing with the public.

I presume that, since the kids would be PAID to do the cleaning, that parents would have to give permission for them do take this JOB. Just like kids work at McDonald’s now.

How is this any different?

So you have no problem with a JANITOR getting cradle to grave retirement and $50,000 a year, but you think teachers should get a pay cut?
