University police tore down tents at UC Davis yesterday afternoon, arresting 8 students in the process, Xeni Jardin of Boing Boing reports. At one point, to clear a path to reach students that they had already arrested, they pepper-sprayed a line of seated, quiet protesters. This video, which shows the pepper-spraying, is going viral. This comment, from venture capitalist Chris Sacca, sums up what lots of people who watch it are thinking: Seriously. Right now. The arrested kids should be expelled by the college. All of the rest should be ID and inform them they will be expelled. There is no excuse for this kind of conduct on any college in the US. Kent State might be a reminder.
You said they are paying a tuition to attend the school. And what evidence do you have they are students?
Chasing the police out...how sad. The look of fear in the police was frightening. It makes you understand how the national guard at Kent State must have felt with all the bricks being thrown.
Sitting on the floor? Guess what - wait these fools out for a few hours till they have to go to the bathroom and/or eat or drink - and this would disberse on its own.
The idiot cops are only doing these people a favor by doing this since it will sicken people on the fence to have sympathy for these kids.

I did stop what I was doing and watched the video. Because I support the police in our country, and obey their commands, watching the video was a waste of my time. I was unsympathetic to those disobeying the law, and, perhaps endangering the citizenry.
There are lawful means to protest, not attempting to humiliate the people in charge of enforcing the law, by getting them to back off.
Just a bunch of snots throwing a tantrum. History tells us that their kind were wrong to do that in the 1960s. They are wrong now.

Really - same can be said when protestors marched on the capital to try to stop ObamaCare the day it was signed.

FRiend I have attended Tea Parties, and never saw such things there.
When Tea partiers are asked to move they move. Have you seen a Tea Party encampment? I never have.I have never seen a mess made by tea partiers that even hardened garbage men were amazed at the smell and the hypodermic needles found.

when the Tea Party protests start up again, or we get a decision on ObamaCare at the USSC we dont like and protest it at the capital or other places - we will be treated exactly like this - count on it.
