Texas Rep. Ron Paul, long dismissed by the GOP establishment as a fringe candidate, has broadened his electoral appeal and emerged as a major player in the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, according to several recent polls and conversations with a handful of longtime Hawkeye political operatives...
In a Bloomberg News survey conducted by renowned Iowa-based pollster Ann Selzer Paul was in a four-way statistical tie for first along with businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich...
And, in a new Iowa State/Gazette/KCRG survey, Paul took 20 percent behind only Cain at 25 percent...
Paul is using the relatively uncluttered airwaves to tell a story of himself as a consistent champion of fiscal responsibility in a field of candidates that have not always hewed so closely to that mantra.
One ad attacks the inconsistencies of Cain, Romney and Perry on fiscal matters TARP, economic stimulus before cutting to Paul; Ive been talking about these problems for a long long time...now were bankrupt and we have to decide which way were going to go, he says.
And, its not just Pauls television ads that have blanketed the state. Sixty seven percent of those tested in the Bloomberg poll said they had been contacted by the Paul campaign via email, direct mail, telephone or someone coming directly to their door over the last year the highest percentage for any candidate...
We have a strong ground game in the state that is reaching out at a faster pace than any other campaign, argued Trygve Olson, a Paul adviser...
We are picking up support among social conservatives in Iowa -- particularly ones who believe our countrys fiscal situation is in serious peril, noted Olson...

...which makes you an idiot for voting for him.
Then you know nothing about Ron Paul. Those of us who know Ron Paul do not like Ron Paul.
Ron Paul was quick to blame America days after the attack.
I dont see Islam as our enemy, Paul said. I see that motivation is occupation and those who hate us and would like to kill us, they are motivated by our invasion of their land, the support of their dictators that they hate. - Ron Paul
At that time, Presidents were not dictators but shared power with the Legistlative branch. Guess who owned the House and Senate in Reagan's second term genius?
Ron Paul - Friend of Iran's Mullahs and Ayatollahs
What positions of Rush/Levin/Hannity are not Conservative?
I can name lots regarding Ron Paul. Why are Ron Paul drones not nuked on this forum? All are useful idiots for a whole host of undesirable and non-conservative principles. They belong in the same bit-bucket as Romney supporters.
The proximate reason the Japanese attacked us at Pearl Harbor was because we had cut off scrap metal shipments to them.
Does that mean we should have met their wishes and continued the shipments?
Did that justify the attack?
The point is that, just because our actions -- consistent with our national interest -- might offend some irrational actor, does it give them the right to attack us?
Paul seems to believe it does.
There is a difference between recognizing what is driving our enemies and justifying same.
Which is to say: I would not entrust Dr. Paul with responsibility for our national security for so much as a millisecond.
I’m not a fan of Romney’s but if he gets the nod, better him than four more years of a Marxist. If you would go anywhere near a Obama HQ or work for them out of spite, then do America a favor and stay home. We got Obama, because “conservatives” wouldn’t vote for Thompson, etc, and when McCain got the nod, they definitely said “no”. Look how well that has worked out.
So you would rather have a Communist. Well, that worked out well over the past 3.5 years, huh.
Not a fan of Romney, but I definitely know that this country can’t take another four years of Obama.
Please stay home.
Oh, HELL NO!
If you hand me Romney I'll give you four more years of Obama.
Put on your thinking cap and only tell the truth about Romney so there is no way he will be the candidate or suffer the Obamaquences!
Yes absolutely. No doubt about it. I will even help Obama win.
We certainly are on the same page against the Romneybots!
Socialist leaders love war the followers of socialism claim to hate war but carry a chip on their shoulder
I don’t like bots, Romney or Paul. But, unfortunately, we aren’t on the same page as defeating Obama.
Take care.
So you would rather “teach America a lesson” by further destroying her. No way. That’s not the plan of someone who loves this great country. You hate Romney, more than Obama. Guess you can’t see what is wrong.
Oh, and by-the-way, I don’t just think. I critically think about this.
Best Wishes
Tell the TRUTH about the gun grabbing baby killer and you should be fine.
You are apparently too shallow to see that Romney and Obama are brothers with a different father. Romney is a Mormon and Odinga is a Muslim. That is the only difference.
And yes, I will shove Obama up your rino ass if you keep supporting Romney.
ROMNEY CANNOT BEAT OBAMA!!!
You are the Obama supporter by supporting Mittens!
No, I want to let you surrender monkeys know that we don't have to listen to the MSM and support the originator of Obama Care via Romney Care and that we don't support the fag agenda like Romney.
FUMR!
Oh, give it a break. You'll be the biggest Romney whore on this site, guaranteed.
Yeah ok. Keep buying not that nonsense. Let me ask you a question, if Obama declares war on Iran or Syria, are you willing to join and die for an Obama war?
Me, I am not.
