These Guys Are Definitely Wall Street's Heroes

Julia La Roche
Nov. 17, 2011, 10:33 AM

Thousands of Occupy Wall Street protesters descended upon Manhattan's Financial District this morning in an attempt to march on the New York Stock Exchange.

A majority of the ire coming from this demonstration, which began in Lower Manhattan and spread nationwide with copycat movements, has been directed at Wall Street.

A pair of men in suits and ties were spotted in the massive crowd with bright signs saying "Get a Job" and "Occupy a Desk!"

They are officially being considered Wall Street's heroes.

Hippie or zombie, who can tell?
At least on FR you don't have to smell the OWS zombies.

The Wall street CEOs that were Corrupt were all from liberal Ivy League Schools.

OWs protests their philosophy’s morality.

Occupy- A call to restore conservative morality that the left removed from society.

“Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks, no form of government, can render us secure.

To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea. “-
James Madison

Normally I don't like the glib “Get a Job” statement when unemployment is high and jobs are very difficult to obtain. I remember putting out hundreds of resumes and applications when I lived in an area where we had 19% unemployment and the rest of the country was in double digit unemployment.

However, the OWS crowd seems a lot more interested in bringing us Communism and making everyone poor than in getting a job. They have shown themselves to be lawless, mindless bums looking for a handout.

“Occupy a Desk!” is hilarious! I wonder how man of them can even read. They can't even make their own signs. They just hold up the ones the unions and Soros made for them.

Yea because we know that is what this Occupation is about… they are out there looking for jobs but it is just that no one is hiring. Get real.

Seems to me that this Occupation movement is more about training to become a new round of homeless people in America. These people wouldn’t accept a job even, they would rather look for handouts.

I sympathize with looking for a job in a tight market. But if your or my choice was to bring in income or occupy the town square, I’m certain we would find a way.

“they are out there looking for jobs but it is just that no one is hiring. Get real.”

Then start a business. No one else is responsible to start a business just to hire someone else.

Companies ARE hiring. But of course you have to be willing to work, at the wage offered doing whatever work is offered. Now if you aren’t hungry to know that it is always easier to get a job when you got a job, then you will wait until the unemployment runs out. Since these magy ‘students’ and anarchists have nothing better to do they wander the streets like wild dogs ( no offense to dogs)

These lowlife Occupiers should start a business. Being that they think they represent 99% of the country they should have no problem getting support for their product.

The fact is that they are not about getting jobs or improving the economy. They are strictly about tearing down a capitalist system if they were to get their way. They are anti-American.

Thanks!

So many seem in denial of the pervasiveness of corruption in Wall Street, large corporations, and our government, and in denial of the fallout from off-shoring, out-sourcing, and guest-workering US jobs sway.

Even if companies were hiring, who would hire these OWS bums anyway?

My company has been hiring. We just brought on another entry-level tech (the first in a couple of years).

The economic downturn has made it easier to find better people than say, compared to five years ago. At least those that I interviewed with this go-round showed up on time, were (mostly) appropriately dressed, didn't curse at me (seriously - that has been an issue in the past) and so on.

But, their skills were still sorely lacking. One guy I spoke with said that his "first love was environmental sciences, but he was going to interview for this help desk position to see if he liked it". Do you think he got the job? Not likely.

Others that were turned down had personality issues (if you're working on a telephone help desk, you need to be able to communicate above a mumble) or just weren't qualified (you need to know at least a thing or two about computers if you're going to work with them, this ain't college, there's no "remedial computers 101" on the job. Seriously, he asked about that.....)

Person that we hired is a little older (40s? but I'm terrible at judging ages, and am too polite to ask), is rebooting her career, and has been around long enough to understand what it means to be a professional. I hope she works out OK.

From what I've seen of the protesters, I'd be unlikely to hire any of them.
