I agree. I was listening to Perry on Medved the other day and Medved brought the staff issue up and compared staff and how it's grown over the decades.

You make a good proposal.

I think this is where we the people need to take this. If it were our own budget we would start with the small stuff, eating out for lunch, cutting down nights out and so on.

The big stuff will come but start small and get a frugal culture going again in DC.

I would suspect that if you asked all of our Congressmen to sit down with a paper and pencil and write down their household budget they wouldn’t have a clue. I also suspect that few really participate in the preparation of their DC budget - the thought being that if we spent X last year, then we will need X plus so many dollars this year and sign their name. They are in an entirely different world. I really don’t see any signs of anything really changing, at least in my future years.
