The only issue I have with marijuana right now is that many people die getting that product to the streets of America. It has blood all over it. If it were legalized and the border with Mexico were closed to traffickers, it would be a different story. Medical is entirely different and should be an issue for the States are Cain, Paul and Perry suggest.
The crime associated with marijuana is almost entirely in the supply chain and not by the end users. You can argue that the stoned end users are a bigger draw on the welfare system but why not just eliminate the welfare state? A GOP presidential candidate that even hints that he will legalize marijuana or turn it over to the states will pick up far more votes than he could ever lose.
