Paterno is a victim of his own ego and cowardice. He knew of Sandusky’s behavior since at least 1998, and he let the bastard go unpunished and uninhibitted in continuing his assault on the innocent. Paterno is a pos and a sorry excuse for a man.

Joe had a choice between one of love and honor or one of materialism (the football program) and self love (his idolization/appearances).

He chose materialism and self as his highest values. Not unlike most of America’s elite class. All that matters is money and self gain/gratification! It brought the banking system down and will ultimately, bring our nation down.

He didn't let Sandusky go unpunished. He ended his career as a coach. The District Attorney, OTOH, did let him go unpunished. You know the 1998 matter was reported to and investigated by police, right?

Sandusky, btw, retained his office and access to university facilities as a retired professor, not a coach.

Football coaches don't get a say in the retirement agreements of faculty members.
