The fatal blow to the campaign has been made. Whether he knows it or not, Herman Cain's campaign is over. I would be overjoyed to be wrong, but the numbers and believability of sexual harassment claims against him have amounted to the critical mass of complaints that end the Cain campaign. It is only a matter of time before everyone realizes it.

This is the first time I’ve read pure fiction at the American Thinker. This time they’re not thinking clearly.
This nation hasn’t forgotten Bill Clinton, the serial rapist. If that criminal could remain in the White House, why should vague allegations from the shadows of Chicagoland politicians disqualify a man for the Presidency?
A.T. is not considering the background of today’s voter opinion, nor the fact that Cain’s numbers remain high because nobody believes the Demonrat liars.
” More info coming to light...
Obamas strategy requires Romney. Obama cannot win many traditional Democrats rustbelt states, so instead he is relying on heavily playing the race card and anti-Mormon sentiment in the SOUTH. Obamas team now believes their best path to victory is to maximize the black vote in the south while at the same time suppressing the white Evangelical vote by attacking Mormonism (through surrogates, friendly press etc, never DIRECTLY from 0bama, other than subtle digs.) Obama also needs to stir up his far-left base by attacking Romney as the personification of corporate greed. (The OWS scheme was hatched when they were sure Romney would be the nominee.)
If Romney is not the nominee, then Obamas Southern Strategy collapses. This is particularly true if the GOP nominates a candidate from Georgia, like Cain or Gingrich. Cain anywhere on the ticket kills 0bamas black-vote strategy, which is the reason for the full-court press to try to make Herman appear too toxic to put on the ticket.”
Thanks for sharing this. Wouldn’t discount this line of reasoning, as it looks like something Barry would be very comfortable having his henchmen/woman do while he holds his
head high, and laments how his work has just begun.
Everyone assumes Defense budget cuts will 1) affect service members pay, 2) decrease readiness 3) prohibit our forces from having the best equipment.
I don’t believe this is the case.
Like every other thing the government touches, Defense spending has a lot of fraud involved. Attack the fraud and you will save a lot of money. Fraud I am talking about isn’t by your average military member, it is at the contract level.
The Left set the bar very low. If you can commit a felony and still remain President Of The United States, an alleged pass is hardly disqualifying stuff. I’ve made a pass at women myself in appropriate circumstances. Heaven forbid human nature is going to disqualify decent men from running for public office because every man alive has done it. According to the Left then, the only men who can run for President are virgins or saints. Their hypocrisy is only exceeded by the depth of their cynical depravity.
Among that block, Cain's interests have dropped rapidly. The Author is probably correct. And in effect, Romney will become the likely candidate.
Like it or not, we did have Perry who could have been a good candidate and who is well qualified. But for some reason, the entire base went crazy and launched an effective internal campaign to destroy him. One which even the MSM would have had difficulty in doing. Of course Perry blew much of it himself in the debates, but realistically, much of the hype was also exxagerated, and for some reason, Perry was not “perfect” enough.
Then came the over night emotional popularity of 3%’er Cain, just hours after Palin announced she was not running. It does not take a Rocket Scientist to figure out how that happened. Realistically speaking, Cain is just a toned down version of Donald Trump, with no actual governmental executive experience and a gift for gab. (Which is also somewhat over rated.)
But more importantly, if this folly continues, and Cain is elected as our candidate, it will be not only a painfully embarrassing chapter in the saga of the search for the Most Perfect Conservative Since Reagan, it will be an epic tragedy of historical proportions.
If you’re right, no one is going to pull the levers for Slick Willard.
And Obama will be President for four more years.
The establishment would be happy with that result but the country would lose in the long run.
Cain or any republican candidate will have many months to debate Barry and win over voters in a general election. Primaries bring out the worst because candidates are attacked from all sides. They’re even saying Romney’s brand is being hurt in this primary because he is unable to break 20-25%. Once the GOP has a candidate and the right falls behind the candidate you’ll see things even out, regardless who is picked.
One good debate where Cain zings Barry he could gain huge support.
Oh, it over. Boo-hoo. Who will save us now?
Mitt Romney! That’s the ticket! Oh, wait, what about Newton? He’s as solid conservative as a body can be - every bit as much as Mitt! Wow, thanks for straightening out this mess for us, now we’ll just have to hunker down and wait until the media tells us which candidate, between the Mitten and Figleaf Newton, will be the next standard bearer of true conservatism.
Oh, wait! I just forgot - I’m a racist. I guess I’ll still have to vote for Herman. It’s a prin-ci-ple thang. You wouldn’t understand.
He was given top spot for doing nothing when he first entered.
He has himself to blame.
That said, Perry is at his most likable, almost funny when he goofs up. I don't think that translates into confidence though.
Cain supported Affirmative action and Tarp. Also endorsed Romney. Sort of figures why Cain has left Romney alone and instead attacked Perry.
But those issues are somehow not important to his followers, who exxagerate his ability and his experience.
the reports of Cain’s demise is just wishful DemoRat and RINO thinking
No right minded person believes the SH BS
His entire life, apart from a stint in the Navy, has been in the private sector. He ran twice unsuccessfully for public office before. He knows a world career politicians have no real experience with. And the breadth of resume is one that many people would like to have. The controversy over his stint with the NRA is threatening to overshadow every thing else. We should look at the whole picture and then decide how much weight to assign to alleged sexual harrassment incidents 15 or so years ago.
Unfortunately, I tend to agree with the article and I’ve thought this for a while now. And I like Cain!
But running in a primary is much different than running in a general and WAY different than being a CEO of a private business. (even if publicly traded)
Cain doesn’t seem to realize that he has to “always be on”. His comments about Anita Hill show this. Do I think they were innocent and in good humor? Yes! But if I have learned one thing moderating a friends wine website (of all things!) is that people across this country don’t have a sense of humor!
I live on the east coast, and I can’t imagine anyone having thicker skin than me. I would vote for Cain in a second. It’s not even a decision - especially compared to Obama. But I don’t think I’ll get that chance.
He’s not ready and it shows. Like it or not, you have to be able to play the game at least a little, or you’ll never get in the door to make the impact you want to make. It’s a shame, but it’s true.
I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I am.
Good response.
Have you missed the debates where Cain flubbed on Foreign policy? the border fence? Military action? His responses were dismal.
Take your blinders off dude, Cain is clearly winging it and it will bite us in a very big way, if this stupidity keeps on going.
