Too late Jose. We know you are pandering only. You made your priorities clear in the first debates.
You oppose fence and e-verify and want to sponsor college for illegals. Then you call us racist and heartless not agreeing with you.
Border can be secured, but only with fence, and removing incentives like tuition discounts and easy ability to work.
“Only” with a fence?
I strongly disagree, and Perry is in good company asserting that a "Fence Only" solution is doomed to failure. It sounds like a simple fix but it just won't work; there is no way to effectively and secure the entire border with a manned, static fence. Such an enormous expenditure to build a viable fence along the entire border would be a monumental waste, only to be defeated by cheap ladders where no one is present to watch and respond to intruders.
Governor Perry, like most other border state leaders with first-hand experience with the problem, favors "strategic fencing" with elaborate barriers in populated, high-threat areas. But in unpopulated wilderness areas with little illegal activity, active and mobile deterrence is the only viable means of securing that vast and desolate remainder of the border. Aided by technology -- included ground sensors and both manned and unmanned aviation -- mobile forces can be brought to bear where needed to block infiltration or other illegal activity.
A simple fence is not the solution. The only viable to solution is a federal administration that WANTS to seal the border. That is what has been missing.
